Update Subscription Expiration

Publishers Can Now Update Subscription Expiration Dates Programmatically Via "Update Subscription Expiration" Zapier Write Action.

The "Update Subscription Expiration" feature introduces a new Zapier write action that allows publishers to modify the expiration date of existing, non-expired subscriptions. This capability facilitates extending or shortening access directly from external systems, eliminating the need to cancel and recreate subscriptions.

Key Features and Requirements:

  • Functionality: Updates an existing subscription's expiration timestamp using the Subscription ID.
  • Flexibility: Supports setting a new expiration date—either earlier or later than the current one—provided the date is in the future.
  • Requirements: To perform the update, you must provide the Property ID, Visitor ID (RealmUID), Subscription ID, and the new expiration date (accepted in any format).
  • Limitations: This action cannot be used to update subscriptions that have already expired.

Example Use Cases:

  • Retention Offers: Automatically extending a subscriber's access by a set number of days when a retention offer is accepted.
  • Support & Billing Adjustments: Granting complimentary access following a support issue or correcting promotional subscriptions to align with specific billing periods.
  • System Synchronization: Aligning internal subscription data with external management systems.

Notes: The Subscription ID required for this action can be retrieved via the "Offer Accepted" and "Subscription Cancelled" Zapier triggers.
