Please follow the instructions below to check the settings in your Edge web browser to address the ad block message being displayed on a Publisher's website.
STEP-BY-STEP DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS
Please do the following to troubleshoot EDGE (Computer)...
- First, please do one of the following...
- Look for the lock icon (as pictured in below screenshot) thatis located to the right of the URL and click it to get a drop-down menu.
- Click the blue toggle next to the left of "Tracking prevention for this site (Strict)" to turn this off (indicated as being a gray toggle with the circle icon to the left). This adds an exception for this site here: edge://settings/privacy/trackingPreventionExceptions
- Next, you'll need to refresh the page by clicking the "Refresh" button as pictured below.
- Look for the lock icon (as pictured in below screenshot) thatis located to the right of the URL and click it to get a drop-down menu.
- Next, once you have done the above step, please return to the tab with the website open and refresh the site by clicking the (
) icon to the left of the URL bar OR open a new window and go to the site where you previously saw the ad block message. Refresh the page a few times. Do you still see the message on screen?
- No? Great! You're all set.
- Yes? Something else is likely contributing to why you are seeing the message, this could be an active web extension, device setting, program on the device, or network layer configuration. To troubleshoot further, we will need more information. Please proceed to the next step.
- Next, we need to check to see if there are any installed web extensions that could be causing the message to show as well. Please do the following...
- Click "..." (3 side by side dots icon) at top right of page >> "
Extensions" >> "
Manage Extensions"
OR to the right of the URL, look for "" icon, click it to extend a menu, then click "
Manage Extensions"
OR copy and paste the following into the URL bar: edge://extensions/ - Here you will see a list of "Installed extensions" and we will need a screenshot for each time you have to scroll down to get a complete view of the full list. You will need to paste these screenshots as a reply to the email thread you have going with our support team for them to look at this list and determine if any of the Extension programs being used could be causing the ad block message to appear.
